What is a company brain for AI?

A company brain is an informal name for a connected knowledge foundation that helps people and AI find relevant organizational context. It needs more than stored documents: ownership, permissions, source provenance, and updates determine whether an answer can be trusted for a particular decision.

What does the source say?

Glean’s Enterprise Graph describes relationships among organizational entities such as people, teams, projects, and processes. This illustrates one vendor implementation, not a standard definition or a requirement to buy that product.

How can you apply this?

Pick one recurring business question. List the documents needed to answer it, who owns them, who may read them, and what would make them stale. Ask a colleague to answer using only those sources. Record missing context and conflicting definitions before choosing a retrieval tool. Assign one owner to repair each gap.

What should you watch out for?

Connecting more repositories can spread obsolete or over-permissioned information. Treat a source’s presence in search as different from its authority to support a decision.
