How can I practice product sense with AI?
Use AI as a practice partner that asks follow-up questions and critiques your reasoning against a consistent rubric. State your user, problem, alternatives, tradeoffs, and success metric aloud before requesting feedback. Practice quality is not the same as an employer’s interview score or a hiring prediction.

How can you apply this?
Choose a familiar product and answer: who is underserved, what problem matters, and what would you change first? Ask an assistant to challenge your evidence and propose a counterargument without rewriting the answer for you. Repeat with a different customer segment. Track which reasoning steps improved, using the same rubric each time.

Do not outsource your viewpoint or invent career stories. A high score assigned by a model can reflect prompt wording rather than stronger judgment in a real conversation.
