The creators of this web app are Yaron Helfer and Reut Danan Hamerman, both students for M.A. degree for communication studies at Tel Aviv University.

This web app created as a final project for a course titled "Serious Computer Games and Political Communication" by Dr. Ronit Kampf as a part of M.A. studies at communication studies department in social sciences faculty of Tel Aviv University.

Out of that, this web app is a product of an academic research that tries to find new kind of educational method which teaches for resolving conflicts.

About the game

Aim of the game: conflict resolution through cooperation which gives benefits to both sides in the conflict.

There are three types of games for three age ranges:

Step 1 - The Babies Challenge - Drag & drop game (Ages 5-8)

The game based on Drag & drop actions for splitting items between two crying babys. The aim is to make a fair split of the items to make them happy.

There are two images of crying children on the screen, along with any child there are a number of elements associated with the

Conflict and children with visual identity of a side of the conflict.

For example, an Israeli child sitting next to two video games, one flower and one kind of food. Palestinian child next to a figure around a donkey, a cat and one flower .

After moving one animal from the Palestinian child to the Israeli child and one kind of food from the Israeli child to the Palestinian child.

In this case, the players will understand the meaning of a fair split when they move items from one child to another and watch the problem get resolved.

The score of the game is calculated by the number of 'drag and drop' actions and the time took to solve each level conflict.

Step 2 - Trivia - learning the other side (ages 8-12)

A trivia questionnaire about social issues associated with the two sides - Objectively.

During the game you'll need to answer questions about the side I choose to know.

After answering the right answer you could find more information about the question issue.

The score of the game is calculated by the number of retries and the timing of answer peaking.

Step 3 - Meeting with historian - Quest Game (12-18)

Historian of the world arrives to a dispute area such as the Middle East and wants to learn the history of the place.

Historian presents issues relating to the dispute and asks for your help to define the historical disputes in a way which will satisfy both sides of each dispute.

As meter keeps the balance, you earn more points. If the gauge satisfaction of the parties is unequal, you lose points.

At the end of the game your approach to the dispute will be analyzed and you'll also receive a score based on your level of balanced approach and timing of each of your answers.
